The Living Room Manchester - reader comments

"When we arrived at the door we were told instantly that we could not come in and the staff looked at us as if we were comman as muck. When we explained to them that we had a table booked we were told to go through (no apologies). We were told to wait at the bar because our table wasn't ready as it was quite busy. We waited about 15mins.

The service was OK but some of the staff seemed very stuck up and you feel like your being looked down to. Everybody's food looked lovely. To my disappointment, the Rissotto that two of us ordered contained rice which was really hard. When we told the waitress she took it into the kitchen and came back saying the chef agreed, offering us another Rissotto. By this point though the others had all nearly finished and we were going to meet friends so time was running late. I never got an apology from the chef or the waitress. which I found disgusting.

As we were leaving we got just outside the door and it was pouring down, so as I started to do the zip on my coat a female and male bouncer demanded that I move to the pavement. I found the restaurant great for people who love flashing the cash. If you want to have a laugh and lovely meal with your friends and expect a friendly service - don't go there. My advice - go to the Living Room in Liverpool instead, the staff are brilliant there, very friendly and you can have a laugh with them. It's also got a great atmosphere." - honey camacho, north wales 8/2/08 (visited on a Sat evening)
