Saki Pizzeria Rusholme Manchester - reader comments

Trusted Reviewer "This used to be Saki Bar & Grill and has changed to Saki and Antonios Pizzeria. It was confusing at first if it was an Italian or Turkish restaurant. It turned out that almost all of the dishes were Italian. I enjoyed my salami pizza and the waiter was very friendly. Only downside, the toilet area where the sink is was really nice and well maintained, but going further into the toilet itself reminded me I was in Rusholme - there was a leak next to the toilet and the corners of the walls looked like they weren't finished. All in all - food was enjoyable and I'd probably return" - ingun, manchester 20/8/07 (visited on a saturday evening)

Trusted Reviewer "I'd read many rave reviews of the Saki Turkish Grill on this site and thought I'd check it out. I was disappointed though to find that the owner had changed what was the the first ocakbasi restaurant in the North West, into a new Italian restaurant. The menu though was a welcome addition to a Wilmslow Road, which, on the whole, is crammed with poor quality Pakistani restaurants. As well as pizza's and pasta, there was a good choice of steak and chicken dishes. I opted for the chicken stuffed with mozarella and mushrooms which was nice and good value for money at £8.50. As we visited on a very hot Saturday afternoon, we were the only people there but the waiters were still welcoming. The decor is more upmarket than most Rusholme restaurants, drinks were good value for money - loads of fruit juices to choose from - and I'd certainly return if I wanted anything other than an Indian meal when in Rusholme. It's unlikely though, as an Italian restaurant, I'd make a special journey to eat there otherwise - which is a pity as I'd actually gone there especially expecting a highly-rated Turkish grill!" - matthew, manchester 11/8/07 (visited on a saturday afternoon)
