Lime Bar at The Lowry Salford Quays - reader comments

"We fortunately stumbled across Lime whilst visiting the Quays. We decided to pop in for a bite to eat and a little refreshment. The restaurant is very modern with little t.v screens on each booth. I ordered a Haddock and Buttered Leek Risotoo with Soft Poached Egg which came beautifully presented and tasted out of this world. My partner opted for a Crispy Confit Duck with Chinese Greens and Sesame Dressing, which also deserved top marks. We then enjoyed an Assiete of Desserts, which included Baby Poached Pears, Chocolate Brownies, Summer Fruit Cheesecake, Homemade Marshmallow (which was to die for) and a refreshing Mango Sorbet. The drinks were lovely and presented nicely. All in all great value for money, superb customer service and fantastic food!" - chris, manchester 24/10/07 (visited on a wednesday evening)

Trusted Reviewer "As a bar Lime in the Lowry seems really cool, and it's in a great location for an after shopping/football drink and snack or before going to the theatre next door. I was really impressed with the presentation of my starter, 'Crispy Duck Spring Rolls', they tasted great and was a good sized portion! So I had great expectations for my main meal, however my 'Minute Steak Ciabatta, Chargrilled, served with chunky chips and a salad garnish' should really have been called 'Cremated' rather than 'Chargrilled'. This spoilt what could have been a very nice meal. As Matthew points out below, I also noticed the happy hour drinks prices - about 30p more than my local pubs normal prices - not sure how much more expensive they would be normally?!?! That said it's a great bar, just think twice about the food!" - nick, stockport 21/6/07 (visited on a tuesday afternoon)

Trusted Reviewer "Great choice of dishes, plush decor inside and outside seating in beautiful surroundings. Other than that, food was just OK, tasty but a little on the cold side and the service was also a bit 'cold'. Their so-called 'happy hour' prices for pints of Fosters at £2.20 sum it up best - incredibly expensive for what you get and it's also one of those places that add 10% to your bill for 'discretionary' service charge!" - matthew, manchester 20/6/07 (visited on a monday afternoon)
