"Great
staff, food Ok without being exceptional, a nice convenient
watering hole close to the shops on King Street and Deansgate."

"The
restaurant is well run by very friendly & professional
staff and the range of the menu should suit most people.
The tables in the upper area near the window are better than those
in the main room, which is a bit echoey and gets all the noise from
the open plan kitchen. The food itself was slightly disappointing.
My Spatchcock Chicken was less succulent than I would have liked and
I don't think that the Red Wine Risotto accompaniment worked that
well. At £15.50 I think that the dish is overpriced, but the
menu as a whole is good value. My wife opted for a Lasagne,
which she thought was a bit bland - needed more tomatoes and herbs
in her opinion. The drinks menu is very good with
a wide range of beers and wines. So overall mixed feelings
but I will definitely give it another go - its location, the
great staff and the range of menu win the day. The £5
discount voucher from Manchester Restaurants also helped!!."

"After
visiting The Olive Press 4 times I thought it was about time I put
in a good word. The Olive Press is my favourite restaurant in Manchester
not only for the fantastic food, which is always
extremely tasty and very filling, but for the friendly
atmosphere. It is certainly well worth the money
and I discovered my favourite white wine there as well! The staff
are always polite and helpful and my only complaint would be that
the food is served very fast and you may need a bit more of a rest
between courses, emphasised by them giving us desserts on the house
when we had to wait 25 minutes for them. Overall this is a great restaurant
and I have recommended it to many friends"

"Very
disappointing - had heard mixed reviews of this restaurant
but we tried it for our works do - paid a deposit and pre ordered
weeks in advance (for around 12 of us) - we had to ask 2 members of
staff for drinks after waiting 15-20 mins - staff did not
seem happy and were not helpful - had to wait ages in between
courses and were there around 2.5 hours - asked for pepper from 2
different staff and still had to wait - the food was OK
but I definitely won't be visiting here again - there are much better
restaurants in Manchester and cheaper - nice inside
that's about all I can say

"Over
priced, cold food, only serve bottled beer,
no draft beer, not a great deal on the menu for me anyway"

"The
food was great - My main, the chicken club sandwich,
was only £7.50 and there was a lot of it. I made the mistake
of ordering fries for a side dish, which was too much. It's enough
just with the sandwich. However the average price of the mains is
about £13-16. The atmosphere was good - It's
also a nice place if you just want to go for a drink. As mentioned
below, my only complaint as such is that the waitresses are
not attentive. They were stood at the bar chatting. They
never asked us if everything was ok or if we wanted more drinks and
we were also sat with empty glasses. There was only about 4 tables
of people in there, so it wasn't like they were 'over-busy'."

"Wonderful
restaurant - very modern and great food.
Only gripe on my visit was poor service - similar
to Simply Heathcotes upstairs really - sat there with an empty glass
for half the meal and the otherwise polite waitresses never revisited
the table after delivering the food - the fish & seafood casserole
- which was delicious! On another point, they boast
about being voted the 15th Best Value Restaurant in the UK according
to the Independent newspaper's awards. Not sure how as it's rather
expensive - for example a Pizza Margherita at Olive Press
will set you back £6.50 compared to £4.65 at Croma, £5.45
at Pizza Express and £5.95 at Piccolino. With other dishes the
price gap gets even wider."
