Sapporo
Japanese Restaurant Manchester - reader comments

"We
have visited twice now and on the second occasion took the whole family
and a Japanese guest. Our Japanese guest loved it! This is
a fun experience more suited to a night out with friends, family or
colleagues than a romantic dinner. You will be seated
around a cooking station and therefore often next to other people.
The chefs are great fun and have a number of tricks and games that
you'll get involved in - not for the shy! The place
is beautifully decorated with original Japanese artifacts.
But it's the food that really shines. The sushi
is excellent and the main courses consistently good.
We highly recommend the Beef Teryaki which is superb. Portions
are large so do share (they expect you to). One that we'll
keep taking people to"

"I
went on my birthday. Very impressed! All the staff
were very helpful and they couldnt do enough for us. The chefs
are fantastic! Doing tricks and having a laugh with you as
well as being very skilled chefs. The food was amazing!
My girlfriend told the restaurant it was my birthday beforehand and,
when I finished my meal, all the staff and chefs came up to me, gave
me a little cake and sang happy birthday to me! I've heard Sven goes
there a lot and you can see why. Only downside is that its a
bit pricey but for what you get and the service you receive
you won't mind paying a bit extra. For me its the
best restaurant in Manchester."

"Good
Teppanyaki restaurant, with a very lively atmosphere.
Perfect for a birthday celebration or out with a group of
friends. Chef's include the whole table in games. Great
place to bring children also. Not a very romantic night out
but fun and tasty none the less. The Chicken Teriyaki and the Beef
Teppanyaki are excellent"

"We
had our company's summer bash at Sapporo. We started off in the Sky
Bar which is just a short walk from this restaurant. We were made
to feel welcome and taken straight to our table. Very lively
atmosphere and all 16 of us had a great night out. If you
want fun mixed with excellent fresh food, then look no further. All
the food is cooked in front of our very eyes by two amazing
chefs who juggled, did tricks and really get you into the
swing of things. Fantastic. They work hard, juggle,
do tricks and really get you in the mood. This type of venue really
suits the larger party and truely is an experience. The food
was great, top notch sushi available which
is well worth a try. I have also been to this restaurant with my family,
our children loved the theatre provided by the chef's and we all thought
the food was excellent. PS sushi is optional, but
is really quite nice, go on give it a try"

"Absolutely
amazing place - the food is amongst the best in Manchester,
prices for the teppanyaki banquets are reasonable
and the decor is very modern and inviting. Superb
for parties but far too loud for romantic meals or
business meetings. Highly recommended"
