"I
travelled up to Manchester for my birthday and choose El Hacienda
after a recommendation from a friend. I had previously lived in Manchester
on the same street so knew the location but it is easily accessible.
From the moment I first called to book the meal, the staff
were friendly and more than happy to help. This continued
when we actually attended with the staff going out of their way to
ensure we all had a great time. The staff even had some of us up dancing
which was great fun. The food was delicious and I
could really taste all of the ingredients but they worked wonderful
well with each other. I had been to a mainstream tapas bar just the
week before and had found the food over fussy, over seasoned and drowned
in alcohol but there was no sign of that with this fresh,
simple and perfectly cooked food. I am going to visit again
and have no doubt of what I will recommend to friends asking for a
good place to eat out in Manchester. I would like to finish by thanking
all of the staff for a wonderful time and I look forward to seeing
them again soon"

"Some
friends had become regular customers of El Hacienda and recomended
it to us, telling us 'we wouldn't be disappointed'. We (party of 8)
arrived and were greeted warmly by Amanda, the waitress, who we had
an immediate rapport with. The restaurant had an incredibly
familial atmosphere (not surprising considering that its
a family run restaurant) and was quite quiet but
this didn't bother us as we were soon chatting away. We ordered a
large amount of food probably about 20 dishes which arrived within
15-20 minutes. Every dish was exquisite and as large
as tapas can be. We especially loved the paella adas with chicken
which was an utter revelation (we even ordered 3 more as we couldn't
get enough'. The premise of El Hacienda is tapas from around the world
so we were anxious to try their version of Sangria which we saw advertised
on the chalk board outside It was different to Sangria that I had
previously drank but nonetheless it was incredibly tasty and moorish.
By the end of our meal the majority of us were stuffed but some of
us soldiered on and ordered dessert namely the 'special' ice cream.
It more than lived up to its monniker as the chunks of clotted cream
made their way into our already ready-to-burst stomachs. The bill
came to a reasonable amount considering that we had ordered copious
amounts of alcohol to accompany our delightful food.
I, and the rest of my friends, will most definitely be returning to
El Hacienda which in my opinion is the finest new restaurant
to open in Manchester in the past 2 years. I hope as the
year progresses El Hacienda goes from strength to strength, highly
highly recommended!!!"

"We
only paid £10 for Sangria & three Tapas, which is excellent
value. We were a little worried they might scale down the
portions size as it was a special offer but we were stuffed. Couldn't
fit in a dessert but will next time, The special ice cream looked
yummy. But beware the complimentary Sangria is potent and very moorish,
we hogged a table for hours and drank two jugs of it!! The
staff were great & really relaxed we were not hassled
but they were there if you needed them, highly reccomended!"

"The
staff were really very friendly and lovely and they've
only been opened a few months. The food was really disappointing.
Some felt like it'd come straight from the frozen section of a supermarket
and others just not fresh. Not one of the dishes was big enough.
We love tapas and normally 6 dishes is more than plenty - no room
for dessert. However we were still hungry afterwards and ended up
going somewhere else for dessert. Overall, disappointing
and won't be going back!"
