"I
booked this place after a couple of colleagues recommended it. There
was 17 of us out on a Saturday night from work celebrating a late
Xmas do. I am a Muslim and I choose not to drink any alcohol. I
ordered a Lemonade and when the waiter bought it over I asked him
5 times if it contained any alcohol in it and he replied 'no', so
I drank it and, surprise, surprise, it did contain alcohol. He didn't
even apologise and walked off. When I complained to another older
waiter he just said 'one is ok' like it was a joke and again no
apology. I found this really offensive as it was the first time
in my entire life I hade ever tasted alcohol. The service
was really slow and we never seemed to get the
drinks we ordered.
Having
later complained to the manager at Efes (the next day) he started
to defend his staff and claimed it was tonic water (funny that no-one
on our table of 17 ordered tonic water and the waiter at the time
never came back to tell me it was tonic water). Instead of accepting
liability and apologising he started to argue and claim that the
order got mixed up due to people on my table ordering alcoholic
drinks. Maybe they should have a section of the restaurant for alcohol
drinkers and another for non-alcohol drinkers, just so they don't
mess up your order. I would never go back to this place nor would
I recommend it. Highly dissapointing night except for the
entertainment"

"I visited Efes after reading rave reviews, including those below,
and to be honest did not realise it was solely a buffet restaurant.
Visiting late on a Sunday night may not have been the best time
to visit but 'all you can eat' for £8.95 sounded like a good
deal. Had I known that it was 'all you can eat of what's left and
has probably been lying here all afternoon' I would have given it
a miss. With many traditional Turkish dishes to choose from there
was still enough left to fill my plate although the quality of each
was massively disappointing. I will certainly be
revisiting though early in the day to see how it compares. Drinks
we ordered never arrived, although when we managed to track
him down, the very apologetic waiter brought them over sharpish.
Other diners also seemed to be on the hunt for the missing waiters
- one even popping her head into the kitchen to ask for the bill.
By the time we'd ate 'all we could eat' there was virtually
nothing left in the buffet trays except for dried up lasagne
or the lone meatball swimming in oily tomato sauce. It didn't prevent
the waiters from charging 2 latecomers a 'special price' of £7
each to finish it off. Fools!" -

"ive
been to Efes many times - i love it. The staff are great and
the atmosphere is really good. The food is
fresh and out of this world. Marks out of 10? has to be a
10!"
